This includes the tales of Amanda Ripley, Zula Hendricks, and Davis, as they work to wipe out the Xenomorph Aliens while keeping them from Weyland Yutani.

I love Aliens: Apocalypse too. It's my favorite comic and for me is sequel to original Alien. I hope we can find a references to it in Alien Romulus.

The problem is that the beginning of the second movie implies that no one knew about the aliens except for Ripley. That means each time almost everything that happened in the prequels, the game, and this new movie were either forgotten or effectively kept hidden from most. It's like a weird deus ex machina causing mass amnesia each time.

The idea that something is 'canon' in the Alien universe is a bit silly.
A few years ago, Blomkamp was about to erase Alien 3 & 4 with his new film, while the new TV show is going to ignore everything Ridley Scott generated about the space jockeys (thank f**k) in Prometheus.
Someone made a video essay recently about how the reliance on Ripley has been the series' downfall, and I agree. She was a great character but even the chances that she would run into the creatures a second time were astronomical (but forgivable, as Aliens is such an incredible movie).
The idea that her *daughter* is now running around chasing xenomorphs is daft, and lacks tension, as we know she dies of old age on earth.
Give us new scenarios and characters ffs.
