Ground Kobe vs Wagyu beef... Which is better? Or should you just use ground chuck?

I was at the grocery store and came across both American ground Wagyu and ground American Kobe beef... so of course I had to put them head to head to see which one made the best charcoal grilled cheeseburger. Now, I know that American Wagyu and Kobe beef isn't the real stuff, but at about $5.00 per pound I couldn't pass these up... but did they beat regular old ground chuck for making cheeseburgers?

I saw them also today and bought them. It didn't look like much of a difference on the outside, but got them anyway. Now I know, thanks anyway.

Looked it up, sounds like they are the exact same thing. The American style kobe is waygu beef. I got it for free at a local pantry today cause no one is paying those prices so it got donated, I'd have been better off getting a big package of ground beef, I agree.

I have seen both of these at Ingles Mkt. I tried them and could not tell any difference. We have become partial to Sirloin burgers.

Burgers looked great! The second ones you grilled seem to flare up a bit more. I agree a good chuck/brisket beef makes one great burger. Oh, love that grill also. Have one too. Do you ever use the igniter on it? Really nice cook and comparison. (Maybe give a hint what’s in your rub.)

I don't know why it would matter for ground beef. I thought the big deal was the marbling in a steak. If you are controlling the fat content by the grind, why would it matter? I might understand grass-fed vs. grain-fed beef.

No no don’t put “wagyu or Kobe “ on a charcoal grill...even Thoe it’s “American” only 9 restaurants in America serve real Kobe/wagyu and only in steak form...
