Why Rocky Was Left Out Of Creed 3 😳 #shorts

For the first time in the Rocky franchise, Sylvester Stallone will not play Rocky Balboa. However, his reasoning will make Creed 3 a better film.

Sylvester Stallone’s reason for not being in Creed 3 could actually make the film more exciting. Creed 3 is the latest installment in the Rocky franchise, but will also be the first to not star the beloved Sylvester Stallone as Rocky Balboa. Instead, the film will focus solely on Adonis, Apollo Creed’s son, and his past that has returned to haunt him. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Stallone opened up about why he will not be starring in Creed 3.

As it turned out, Stallone decided not to return as Rocky because he was not happy about the direction that Creed 3 would take. Rather than continue with the sentimental feel of the previous films, in both the Rocky and Creed series, this film will delve into a darker place. Stallone stated, “I wish them well, but I’m much more of a sentimentalist.” While the lack of Rocky’s presence will be a difficult change for the franchise, there is a lot of potential in the new direction the series is taking.

The actor refuses to go see the latest installment in the 'Rocky' spinoff series—but he's not opposed to working with Michael B. Jordan again someday.

Although Stallone's physical presence will be missing from the film, he will still remain among the shadows, serving as a producer for Creed 3. No plot points have been revealed thus far surrounding the highly anticipated film, yet it's obvious from Stallone's decision to leave that Creed 3 will be setting itself apart from the rest of the films in the franchise.

It’s unfortunate. He did it himself. He sold the rights away before the first film, afraid that it wouldn’t amount to anything.

I mean Rocky’s story is basically over in Creed 2 he meets his son for the first time in a while and see his grandson for the first time. He finally can be at peace for the rest of his life just being with his family.

Anyone who takes that away from Sylvester Stallone is truly a bum

Rocky's story is over. Yes. It's time to give him the rest and pass the torch to Adonis. Yes. But they could have at the very least be a cameo, like on the phone or by the tv watching the fight. It's not that impossible to do right?

I thought it was because rocky was still visiting his son

He said he didn’t want to be associated with creed 3 cause he felt that it focused more on Adonis’s pass and he said if there was to be a creed 4 he would definitely do it

Stallone had 8 films (including both creed films) it was time for them to move on

Rocky was probably sitting on his couch watching the fight on tv wondering why no one called him

Ngl I did not have one thought about Rocky during and after watching Creed 3. It was only when I read an article mentioning the reasons why Rocky couldn’t be in Creed 3 that I was reminded of it.

This story should be focused on Adonis now Rocky’s part in it is done in Creed 2 it was a nice send off when he met his son and grandson again.

I think it’s time we accept Rocky’s story is done, he’s made amends with his son, defended his title various times, trained Adonis, there isn’t anything left for him to do and it’s time to pass on the torch down to a younger fighter, while I admit it won’t be the same without the man who started it all, it would be a drag on Rocky’s character to include him in a every movie going forward knowing he’s done everything he could and is accomplished.

I think it would be good to have a stand-alone idea of Creed. Apollo Creed had an entire life and situation before Rocky 1, 2, and 3. I think it would have dope to have an Apollo Creed movie aside from Rocky. I think this was brilliant and makes the Rocky franchise more relevant.

I'm okay with him not being in 3 they gave him a proper send off at the end of 2. I never once thought creed 3 wasn't good because rocky wasn't in it like a baby, like half the people in this comment section.

Sly got a producer credit in the movie, no one got mad when Rocky cut all the characters out of his future movies.

I mean at this point, Rocky’s time is over, he’s moving forward with his son and just living his life

I really hope Stallone and Wrinkler come to an agreement at some point. Creed 3 was good but there was an absence of his Rocky character.

Sylvester Stallone wanted the franchise to go one direction and the owners wanted it to go another so he wont be seen in future Creed movies unfortunately. At the start of the Rocky franchise Sylvester presented the idea to multiple people and none of them wanted him to play Rocky however and he eventually even offered to give the rights and act for free to whoever allowed him to play the main part.

Creed 3 was great taking rocky out allowed more focus on Adonis having a story completely centered on him and his past and allowing him to stand on his own as a character without using rocky as a crutch…

But I did miss sly he’s the soul of the franchise, if he stopped appearing in creed fine but I’d want him to have a proper send off. Hate things turning out as they did
