Holy Shit! Did that marketer remember what happen in Japan in 1995

This got me to start watching Evangelion. It's everything I was promised. A relatable show about kids facing real life problems and swarming with magic robots.

Ironically, despite its current reputation, Evangelion WAS pitched as a Family program in Japan, in a family timeslot and everything. Its after the Leliel (Giant Orb angel) where everything gets even more depressing and off the wall that even Tv distributors were shocked by how violent it got, as at the time, most anime was seen as merchancidzing oppourtunities for children, and adult fare was limited to OVAS.


Children in japan still enjoy the series regardless to this day however, including the Rebuild films.
