I was crying so bad when I see Asuka death cause she was happy at the moment she finally understood that her mother is always by her side, her whole life was a misery and pain to her, and she only felt happy seconds before she died ;(

In my opinion yes at the End of Evangelion when she gets impaled by the fake spears of longinus she does die...but then at the end of the movie how is she there woth Shinji on the beach? Cause in my opinion when everyone turned into LCL Asuka's mangled lifeless body and everyone else who died in the battle of NERV HQ also turned into LCL, and when Rei asked Shinji what he really wanted he just wanted a world without Evangelions, everyone happy and alive...so Rei used her new found powers to be a sort of spirit guiding entity, her new purpose is to ask every individual person who turned into LCL if they want to be a part of Instrumentality, and it takes time for everyone to actually tell her their answer. Asuka wanted to leave as well as Shinji as she viewed the whole thing as "disgusting" which is why she says that at the end of the movie, she feels disgusted about what she witnessed and became a part of...what she helped create...she felt used...like a doll...so thats why she came immediately after with Shinji. I feel like in time most people will come out of Instrumentality eventually and the world will be stable, as in my headcanon it takes the world about 6 months to a full year or two for it to be stable, with not everyone coming out such as Maya and Ritsuki who i feel belong there with their fantasies. So there Rei finds her purpose, Shinji and Asuka make up and eventually get together and Misato...im a bit at odds with what happens to her, does she accecpt Instrumentality and be with Kaji or does she escape it, with or without Kaji i ant decide. Well here you go my long ass writing about Evangelion that probably no one will read 😓😭
