2007 Tahoe Misfire Cylinder 7...error code P0307

Causes: Spark Plugs / Spark Plug Wires / Ignition Coil Pack / Active Fuel Management (AFM) / Displacement On Demand (DOD)

Replaced spark plugs, wires and ignition coil on Cylinder 7 and still had a misfire...after further investigation it was found to be a faulty collapsed AFM lifter. Released the lifter, modified the VLOM and had ECU reprogrammed to delete the AFM feature following Crazed Performance LLCs @CrazedPerformanceRepair

Amazing video. The only reason why I attempted this repair was because of your video. Thank you very much. Your honesty and your easy to understand steps made this repair fairly easy.

Solid content and source of info for someone who’s not a mechanic. This should assist someone in the right direction of diagnosing what may be the culprit.

My hat off to you, for someone that said they never did anything like this before you did a great job. Best thing to do is take your time, take pictures and videos and never be afraid to ask questions.
I did notice your oil pressure was low before and after. On some of these 5.3 the O ring that holds the pick up tube goes bad and you suck up air. It is an easy fix also. Not sure if that is your problem.
As a master tech of over 30 years, I must say good job

I have the same problem too on my 2008 GMC Yukon. Thanks for your video bro!!! Appreciate these types of videos because we aren’t professional mechanics and these type of jobs they will try to take all of your money. Great work!

Thanks for the video. I’m having the same issue and the lifter is the last thing left. But appreciate you for putting this video out as I’m about to dive into mine now. Mad respect for you bro. You did the job honestly and gave credit where credit was due. I got mad respect for you. And really appreciate you taking the extra time to make the video. Thanks again bro.

You talk about your Tahoe the same way I do 🤣🤣 Glad you were able to save her. I got lucky...I was able to disable my AFM before I ever had a lifter problem. 233, 000 miles and going strong.

Now you have me rethinking the problem with my LS3 6.2. when I was doing my remote start in the morning I would hear a faint tick on the driver side then all of a sudden blinking engine light and stability control service light. Live data shows, #3 misfire . I change plugs wires and #3 coil, still have misfire engine shaking. #3 plug it's not one of the AFM cylinders which are 1, 7, 4 and 6. So maybe I have a stuck lifter like you had.

hopefully you got this fixed. collasped lifters means its time to afm delete. the afm system goes bad after like 50k miles and usually causes hella heartbreak. more if you have an upgraded camshaft. same thing happened to my car rn. ordered an afm delete kit, new pushrods, springs, etc that the person who had my car before me should have but didnt when they upgraded the cam. but the afm delete kit from a site like texas speed will fix this issue and give you the options you need to make sure it doesnt happen again.
Also i would suggest link bar style lifters. why? one less fail point by removing the plastic trays all together. if u dont believe look up what happens when ur plastic lifter tray starts to get old. gl gb
if you do the new lifters you can also add more hp to your car. glad to see you got it all sorted and this will def help my problem so you did help a bro out lol.

I have the exact same truck only mine is black. It's running rough and giving me a code for deactivation cylinder solenoid #7 . I'm going to buy my first set of tools and do the same thing. Thanks for uploading the blueprint bro. I'm still paying a note on my truck. You're heaven sent.

Yo im glad you fixed your truck, im also having the same issues with my truck. i have a 07 sierra and i first got a misfire on cylinder 4 code p0304 then i changed all the spark plugs and i got a random misfire with the code p0300. i ended up changing my coil and spark plugs wire and its still doing the same thing. someone told me that ac delco spark plugs are recommended for my truck but i used bosch spark plugs, im wondering if you think that can be an issue? also what did you do to finally fix the issue?? im not trying to drive my truck like this since it shifts rough on 1st gear and im not trying to mess up my transmission. thanks in advance, i also did remove my throttle body and mass air flow sensor and cleaned both but no luck.
