Thanks for this fantastic episode. It’s so reassuring that menopause is being talked about openly now, it’s so difficult for so many women and we have been neglected by medicine for so long.

Great discussion. My grandmother spiraled badly in the early 50's, no one understood her struggles and she ended up having Electric shock treatment for "depression". How much of this was contributed to by menopause? I often think of how life was for her, she had 10 kids, and the tenth was my dad who came when she had alread entered menopause. It must have been so hard.

Great to see and hear the campaigning is starting to make a difference. One area that wasn't touched on was the auto immune type disorders that are caused by menopause, I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis and my first question was are you sure it isn't my hormones - the woman Rheumatologist said absolutely not and didn't even try to have hormone levels checked. I was put on terrible medication (low dose chemotherapy drugs) lost my hair, gained lots of weight due to steroids (the only thing that actually took the pain away) and after a friend who had been going through similar issues told me she went onto HRT and everything went away, I have also started HRT. I have drastically reduced the biologic mediacation I am taking for the RA and hope to stop it completely soon.

23:00 I’ll get flack for this, but should women really be firefighters anyway? I’m only okay with it if they can pass the same strength requirements the men have to pass. I’d rather be carried down a flight of stairs rather than dragged… we need our strong men! ❤

Brain fog, anxiety, joint & muscle pain, generalized inflammation, headache, low energy to name a few. Great nutrition, gym 4 days per week. Supplements like magnesium, d3, Boswellia, ashwaganda, glucosamine & condroitin, have helped me a lot. Cats claw as well

HRT is not a "traditional" treatment. HRT was suggested in the 1960s by Robert Wilson who thought this would mean that women could remain "feminine forever".
