Cleaning the carburetor jets on a Briggs and Stratton 12.5HP engine to get it idling smooth again!

If you get some copper stranded wire you can take one strand out of it and use it to unplug those tiny jet holes. Copper is soft and its better for not damaging the jets.

Sometimes there's a air mixture on the top of the carburetor too that gets plugged up it's made out of plastic pull the screw out and pop that thing out with a needle nose pliers and clean it too

I have the 15.5 and it keeps flooding out after you turn it off. Already checked the electric fuel shutoff it's moving back and forth as needed looks like

Same thing my YT4000 craftsman 24 HP is doing ! Can run it without full choke but now it’s dying even that way. Replaced the fuel pump a week ago, ran great ! Now it’s the choke I’m not sure if it’s the choke linkage cause with my hand Under it and holding it runs fine, I let go and it’s throbbing up and down and dies.

Now I've got a smooth powerful kawi580 and replaced the carb, then it went back to running bad soon after I've done all the hunting tricks etc fuel line clean filter etc every trick, it still starts to fart out and die like the bowl is run dry, wait a little and it fires up strong only to run dry again frustrated this round any Xtra tips from you or any one would be a help

Always use ethanol-free gas in your small engines and your carb will never have to be cleaned

Turn off the fuel and empty the bowl before storage and this won’t happen.

All i did was drain the old petrol out of the carburettor bowl and sprayed some carb cleaner up the jet
