Unfortunately, in one interview, Ridley Scott stated that he's adamantly against releasing an alternate or extended cut of Prometheus. Therefore, to experience the complete version of the movie, we must turn to the Blu-ray edition at extra materials.

We’ll cover every single removed sequence in chronological order many of which are not even included in the Blu Ray edition and can only be found in extra materials.

Some of them are a few minutes long, such as the deleted engineer dialogue and the extended engineer fighting scene with Dr. Shaw. However, others are just short clips lasting a few seconds. Despite the abundance of material, I will do my best to condense all of it into this 14-minute video.

The first deleted scene, often referred to as the alternate opening, depicts the arrival of engineers on Earth. In the movie, we simply see the lone engineer standing in front of the waterfall. However, in this deleted scene, a group of engineers accompanies the sacrifice engineer to the edge. The elder gives him a cup containing the Blood of the first deacon, a god-like creature the engineers worshipped. As we’ll see later in the video, Engineer’s blood is actually black, which explains why the pathogen or the black goo is of the same colour, because Engineers were trying to recreate the blood of the first deacon.

Thousands years later when Hollowway and dr. Shaw discover carvings in an ancient cave Before they enter the cave, there is a short deleted clip of dr shaw smiling, to which Holloway responds, "You're smiling."

When the Prometheus ship on the way to LV 223, an alternative scene depicts David crying while watching 'Lawrence of Arabia'. Unlike the theatrical version where he just watches the movie, the deleted sequence reveals a more emotional David, showing him shedding tears.

While checking in on the Prometheus crew members, David also visits Wayland in cryo sleep which was removed fom the movie. David enters Wayland's dream, where the billionaire is relaxing on a yacht in the middle of the ocean, appearing as a younger version of himself. David informs Wayland that they are nearly arrived, which angers Wayland because David disturbed him before completing his objective. Early concepts portraying Wayland's yacht can be found on Blu-ray, but the production rejected this scene even before filming.
Next, there's a deleted scene between Melburn and Fifield. After awakening, everyone meets other crew members, and Melburn mentions that his fingers are still numb from cryo-sleep. Fifield responds that nobody has ever been in cryo-sleep for so long before as they have.
Then just before the crew meets Weyland's holographic projection, there's a deleted scene with Yanek decorating the Christmas tree. Vickers tells him to join the rest of the crew for the presentation, but Yanek insists that his only job is to operate the ship, so he doesn't need to know anything about the mission. Christmas is another reference to Jesus Christ in this movie that was removed and there is another deleted segment of Janek signing ho ho ho that only appears is some trailers.
Right before the briefing there is a short deleted clip of Shaw saying, "They're going to think we're crazy." and hollows responds “Yeah. They’re not if you keep it scientific”. When Holloway shows the same star formation depicted in many locations on earth there's another deleted clip of Fiefield saying it's a map to which show response it's an invitation.
After the briefing, there is a deleted segment of Shaw being upset at Holloway for not backing her up during the presentation, when Fiefield and other crew members were skeptical of Shaw's research.
The next deleted scene occurs in the pyramid and showcases Melburn making an unsettleing discovery of a small worm in the black liquid, which is followed by David calling it "our first alien." This short scene was removed, but it kind of justifies Melburn’s unwavering curiosity, leading him to a horrifying fate.

The next deleted clip is of the sacrificial cup in the ampule room. Initially, instead of the green crystal, there was the sacrificial cup, the same one that we saw at the beginning of Prometheus, and it was seen in one of the trailers. However, in the later stages of production, it was replaced with the green crystal because the movie decided to not explore the Engineer storyline.

I was really disappointed we didn't get a true exploration of the Engineer's planet and history.

Simply leaving in that one scene where David and Weyland have a full blown conversation with the engineer would have fixed so many of this movie's problems. :(

I still cannot get over how they were so cavalier with the alien cobra thing. Even on Earth, you don't try play with a cobra.

I swear I remember I watched Shaw say "it's not a map, it's an invitation" in the theatre.

Absolutely baffling the editing choices that were made for the final cut. Practically every point you made about the deleted material and how they would have enhanced our understanding of various scenes is spot on!

I worked for one of the VFX companies on Prometheus and remember the alternate Fifield mutations sequence well - it was actually referred to as "Fifield Lives" internally and along with the opening engineers sequence I view it as some of our best work on the show. Was disappointed to not see it included in the theatrical cut but am happy it at least got to see the light of day for others to enjoy!

Dude the Engineers are the most important thing the original space jockey has left me pondering for decades and the hope to finally understand them had me so excited and turned into a even bigger tease...this movie and it's sequel were capable of such great things. They had actors, the director, the budget, man it could of been great, all the fans wanted was origin story, every one has seen every type of xenomorph again and again, it's played out bring us to something more substantial

It always baffles me how Ridley can destroy his own work by these bad decisions.

Unfortunately, they deleted the most important scenes. I have no idea what they were thinking. A movie about the engineers and their god and planet would be awesome!

Removing all those deleted scenes from the movie did the movie a huge disservice. Production teams always make bad decisions.

Leaving all this in would have made this movie one of my favorites. So much more depth to the characters and most importantly to the Engineers.

There use to be a fan made edit of Prometheus on Pirate Bay were someone inserted all the deleted scenes like its a directors cut. It was really good.

I find it ironic that much of Alien 1979’s success came from Ridley making the right decisions. Well other than cutting the egg morphing scene, which might have been the studio’s decision. Either way, Prometheus would have been much better if Ridley didn’t make all of the changes this go around. The story would have made a lot more sense and would have added more depth to the characters.

I visited Dettifoss, the waterfall from Prometheus a couple of weeks ago, and stood in the exact same spot as the engineer! I still love this film, despite all of its flaws

It's weird that they deleted so many scenes that could made the movie make more sense.

it's nuts there's still potential for new videos on this channel with this now familiar style of narration of yours and this background music. How many years have passed and still we're left with the mystery of engineers set up in the Prometheus movie, gosh
