UniFi Express is a compact Gateway designed for small installations like Homes and Offices.
It has a Wan Port, a Lan Port, a USB type C for power supply and a Reset button.
Essentially, It’s a 3-in-1 device that combines a UniFi Security Gateway, a UniFi Cloud Key and a UniFi 6 Access Point.

UniFi Express can manage up to 4 additional UniFi network devices.

Can this be entirely used as a mesh AP setup using 3 of them? I want to keep my OPNsense firewall and have it feed into one of these in the middle of the house with another at the front and the back of the house via mesh.

What would be the best Ubiquiti solution for a 360m² residence with concrete walls and many connected devices (4k IP cameras, IOT home automation devices, video streaming on smart TVs, etc.). Currently, using 2 Asus RT-AC86U mesh routers but recently I have been having problems with devices disconnecting and packet loss on IP CCTV. balancing between devices also doesn't work well. I'm thinking about switching to a UniFi solution and I'm unsure about using the UDM-PRO, UniFi Dream Router, or UniFi Express. One difficulty is that there is a section of the house that cannot run cables, it would have to have a wireless bridge (Mesh or repeater with Ethernet cable output).

If you already have a router, can the Express be used as just a controller only for other unifi devices? Or, even better, as a controller/AP combo?

Are their options in the network software that could allow that?
