So I know nothing about networking or switches or routers (I am a MD). I found this guy who would setup a whole Unifi system in my house consisting of 11 APs (all of the cabling is already done) and was going to charge me 5000 euro just for the installation.... which was around the same amount I already paid for my devices. I said I would do it myself. Thanks to you, I was able to install this system, setup different VLANs and help me understand how all of the basics work. Now my wife can spend 5K on something else ;)

I work in the computer security field so terms make sense but I was not familiar with Unifi’s environment. I bought a house that had a Unifi network already installed but it was very basic and un-configured for good security hygiene. I looked at a lot of Unifi config videos. Great video of setting up unifi. Next how about a video around setting up firewall rules and best practices for securing the vlans. Firewall rules to disable vlans from talking the the Unifi gateway except on Default network as an example.

I learned a lot from this, and i think what helped was the tone of the voice and detailed explanation. I would recommend if the guest speed limit is per device, set the speed to max 5mbit down and 3mbit up if it was for a coffee shop.
