04:16 - kids, please don't overlook checking your sag. Most new riders overlook this in the beginning, and it can make a huge difference in ride-ability and safety. Please make sure your spring rate and sag is correct. Please. Your suspension is much more important than how powerful your engine is. Get that right, and everything else will make sense.

We got our boy his new 2022 KX85 for this Moto season, hes off to a great start, and at first i changed his oil after every race weekend, it was clearly still breaking in, but now im going to do every other Race weekend because the oil is getting pretty clean looking now, I love your videos, great job and keep them coming please.

Linkage, swingarm and head set have a slight smear of grease on them. Do these before first ride.
A spotlessly clean bike is super easy to work on.

It's awesome to get a pro who shares secrets for FREE 😁. When I started riding, I went years damaging things with not a clue until, I made friends with a pro rider.👍

I think the radiator bracing idea isn't terrible but for me I run harescrambles so I just get the full radiator braces so there protected on the sides if i lay it down on rocks or something

just run the stock chain & sprockets till its time to change them, why toss them before you even use them.
I've gotten months out of my stock C&S.
Definitely do your steering stem bearings on the 19& newer Kawi's.
I've went through 4 sets on mine in the last 3 years. 2 on my 2020 450, and 2 on my 21 250. I haven't gone through that many the previous 25 years combined.

Nice Bike...TEAM GREEN...ALWAYS! for our 2022 KX85 break in they called for 16-1 mixture and let it run for 3 hours on and off when it warms up, then let it cool and do it again, i ran it on a stand and slowly went through all the gears over and over, then i drained out the rest of the 16-1 and filled it with Avaition Fuel 32-1 and it runs great, he Loves It, and it really is a Bad Ass Bike!

All good points, but from what I've learned from factory mechanics back in the day, regrease all bearings from the steering, suspension links both wheel bearings and axles with high quality water proof grease even before riding your brandnew bike because since this bikes are mass produced, they just put just enough grease in the factory so as not to hamper the assembly line. When the bike is happy, the rider is also happy.

Just bought a 2023 Husqvarna TE300, spent the first couple days just dialing the bike in and adding protection parts. It was super tempting to just go rip the bike but I plan on keeping this bike a long time, so it was worth the wait. For the most part these KTM made bikes really do come ready to race. As they should considering the price tag.

Don’t forget a spark arrestor. Here in Michigan, if you you ride a Mx bike on any trails and get caught by the DNR they will ticket you and make you push your bike back to the truck !
Better yet, if your riding trails, don’t even get a MX bike. The cost of a spark arrestor can run over a grand so ….
