Anger in Riley has a few characteristics like his dad (the mustache) and Sadness looks like her mom (glasses).
So the part about Riley learning from her parents makes more sense

My question has always been: do emotions have emotions? Because Joy cries too. So how is that supposed to work?

i think the real question is why do the emotions have genders.

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but the whole “emotions are a different gender from your actual gender” theory is more defining of trans than bi or gay. Lol.

After having watched the movie, my biggest question is "why is all of Riley's memories in third person instead of first person?"

I wish you guys talked about the fact that some of the emotions experienced OTHER emotions

EMOTIONS WITH EMOTIONS OTHER THAN THEIR OWN

I've always thought "Hey, it's a kids movie. Boys and girls will watch it. So both boys and girls are included in her head." Idk its just my theory
Wait I just realized he said it-

I still have 2 questions
1. Why is joy the only one that *glows* ?
2. Why can't joy make the memory go back to happy?

I have a question for you: is Riley the main character or Joy?

Do the emotions have emotions
AND DO THOSE EMOTIONS HAVE EMOTIONS

What dose being bi have to do with having different gender emotions-

Do they mean like she is gender fluid?

I have this theory that anxiety disorder is just what happens when Fear starts a mutiny and holds the other emotions at gunpoint so that he has complete control

Not even a minute in and i here:
"Why would 2 men be inside the head of a little girl"😂😂

Maybe it’s because

The writers didn’t have enough female voice actors

plot twist: they just didn't want people to be mad that there are only girls in her head so they made some male characters

Riley has multi gendered emotions because it's a kid's movie and they need to have both female and male characters to have a balance so it's not a "girl" or "boy" movie.

*Sadness is in charge in Mom's head because* as we see over the course of the movie, the point of sadness is to get your needs met.  When Riley was a newborn, sadness caused her parents to feed or change her. When she missed the goal, sadness caused her team to rally round and cheer her up. When she said she missed Minnesota, sadness caused her parents to comfort and talk to her.

Anger makes you stand up for yourself; Fear keeps you from doing stupid things; Disgust keeps you from being poisoned; and Sadness tells you when things aren't right, so you can take steps to change whatever is the problem.

Mom having Sadness in charge doesn't mean she's sad all the time.  It probably means she's less sad than most other people, because problems are immediately processed by the emotion in charge of solving problems.  It's an incredibly healthy emotional set-up that says Mom is capable of observing a problem, identifying the cause of the problem, and delegating that problem to the emotion best suited to getting their needs met. (You'll notice that her emotions are also better-coordinated and better regulated than Dad's are).

3:58 If she's more mature and in control of her emotions and that's why her emotions are all female, then fair enough. But then, why does the boy who bumps into riley near the end of the movie with the black curly hair and the cap have all male emotions? Based on the fact that when he sees riley, his face goes nervous and blank and inside his head, there are alarms blaring and everyone's running and screaming and crying, I'd say he's *not* in control of his emotions
