The problem was proof. Was there anyone willing to test that theory and possibly disappear for ever. I won't call them a lie. Yes, they didn't make a wormhole or a holographic one. They were able to confirm the math for it. Big difference, but definitely headed in the right direction, once quantum computing matures. Better mathematical proof, but not creating one.
