You NEED to be doing this to make PROGRESS!

Alright quick tip, you need to start tracking your workouts. If you actually care about building muscle, then you need to be progressively overloading in the gym. And to do that you need to know what you did last session in order to do something better for your next session. For me, everytime I finish a set, I wait a couple seconds to catch my breath, then I open my notes app and write down the weight, the amount of reps, and any notes I feel necessary. I do that for every set of every exercise, and then for my next session, I’ll go back into that saved note, and for every set I’ll either aim to do more reps to reach the top of my rep range, or increase the weight and start again from the bottom.

I hope that helps and subscribe for more lifting tips! #Gym #Shorts

Tracking your workouts does not have to be complicated! It can be as simple as just writing down what you did and how you felt in your notes app 👍 It makes it much easier to assess progress as opposed to trying to memorize everything 😅

Looking to get protein powder, creatine, or any other supplements?

I used to use notes as well but now I just use the “strong” app

Yes. I do the same. Open notes, track reps. Once I reach the desired reps, increase weight. 💪

Bro at first I thought you were doing 100 sets of 5 reps 💀

Could you make a video showing your current workout routine with the exercises through the week would be great help

idk many fitness influencers say that progress is the result and not the driver for hypertrophy and from my experience I tend to agree.
personally I've never tracked my exercises, I just do as many reps as I can and seems to be working fine.

lol I just started doing this yesterday. It’s great that a lot of fitness guys are talking about it though because it seems to be a really efficient way of progressing

I used to do that the first 5 months of lifting and made great progress. But i stopped as i started to workout with my friends much more often, but i am still making progress. I usually remember what weight i did and just slowly up it from there. If i hit 10 reps easy, i automaticaly remember it. BUT, tracking was a game changer for me so i will start tracking again when i get off accutane-

So i am saying listen to Euceda start tracking, its a game changer, but you could still make progress without tracking. As long you are slowly upping the weight by time and training close till/till failure and fixing your diet + marcros. Just do what you want really but remember these important things.

I mean if a weight becomes easier and easier to handle, usually that would tell you to increase weight. Now the heavier weight isn’t so easy so you continue your progress.

The best thing I did was track my most if not all my workouts from when I started lifting. I can see exact details about a workout 5 months ago. Tracking made progressive overload EZ AS HELL.

"Simple workout log" app is the way to go. It's literally perfect. They don't overdo it like other workout apps I've tested (looking at you strong app). As the name suggests it's pretty simple and straightforward to use. No complicated UI or fancy graphics telling you how you should work out. When it comes down to it, it's just an enhanced notes app for keeping track of your routines.

"Hard gainers" track your calories! You don't eat as much as you think!! I'm speaking from experience!!

I like to write all the exercises I usually do for each day in my split, with a space to put in each set as weightxreps, then I can copy the note for each session and fill it in as I go 💁🏻‍♂️

I think it helps after your last set of each exercise to note how that exercise felt on the day: if I felt like I could have pushed harder, or if I went too heavy and my form was off, if I didn't leave enough rest, etc.

Instead of that, I use an app that is made for this exact reason. And it's muuuch better. I only create the workout once, and then I just increase reps, sets and weight or change the exercise, but it also has an in-build timer that activates once you press the "done" button when you do a set, and it keeps all your workout history, your PRs and your progress in each exercise. The one I use is called Strong, and I highly recommend it, but I'm sure that there are many more that would do about fine,
