I do miss living on a carrier. Then I remember I can sleep in my own bed.

I have all the respect in the world for those folks who go down to the sea in ships. I am an ex-paratrooper and I don't think I would fare well on an aircraft carrier.

Not being much of a boat or ship fan, I've only been on boats that, when you go into a turn, lean _inwards, _ so that if you're sitting in the cabin area, you aren't fighting centrifugal (centripedal?) forces to stay in your seat. I get such a kick out of seeing these _GARGANTUAN_ ships lean _outwards_ in sharp turns. Hold onto something!!!

In the 90s as a kid on a family trip we saw the aircraft carriers. They were 5 billion in 98'. We were there to watch my brothers marine Corp. Graduation.

Been there done that. USS America ( CV-66) '74 - '78. The only thing I think the Ford crew doesn't get to enjoy is the every three day night time refueling evolutions. Sure we had the usual unreps and vertreps, but the refueling was every three days.

If I were to ever enter naval service aboard an aircraft carrier, put me in the galley (same for any other ship). I’d be too nervous on the flight deck.

I'm disappointed there's no mention of where the ship gets all its electricity and heating from.
