This codex works with the existing SoB codex, it does not replace it.
(Hence why the SoB codex is still being sold, and receiving digital updates).
So we still can use Celestine there :)

They need a model where a guy is handing over his ceremonial blade in shame as he holds a pistol

Manager at my GW says it's a stand alone codex not meant to replace any other codex. Just a way to get certain units in formations for other armies.

For me as a astra militarum player, I love this book for the new astropath who also got added a new psychic disciplin and an easy way to add a death watch team to my army.

Personally, I think the book is just a "Inquisitors and bring their Militant Branches" along with "miscellaneous models with unique benefits you can take with other Imperial armies". I think the book's really to just give your purely Astra Militarum or Space Marine lists a little bit more realism to it....after all (fluff-wise)....you're never going to see a regiment or larger for Imperial Guard go to war without another agency/group getting involved; the act of even getting the armies to where they need to be is laborious and needs the coordination of many Adept groups in the Imperium and it stands to reason these Adept groups would lend their more war-like servants to aid them ...and despite how independent the Space Marines are in the realm of the Imperium, they're hardly going to exclusively fight alone. The book is (in my mind) just to give a bit more fluffiness to your Imperial armies (though the Sisters of Battle part is a bit confusing).

Is it possible to use St. Celestine from the new Triumvirate of the Imperium with the SOB Detachment? Is it still classified as Adepta Sororitas?

I love Servitors so, this'll be fun for some fluffy bits

From GW web-site   "A full army list for the Battle Sisters of the Adepta Sororitas
- Tech-Priest Enginseers and Servitors of the Adeptus Mechanicus."  On there web-site it says the full and complete army list is in this book.

I hope this is a precursor to a "War Zone" styled book for Adepta Sororitas and Grey Knight going off against Chaos Space Marines and Chaos Daemons. Setting up "Decurion" styled Formations is a tough job for Adepta and GK being seperate armies, but having them as a single entry makes sense lore wise and makes it easier for GW to set up a good unit mix for Formations. Any role Adepta lacks Grey Knights can fill and any role Grey Knights lack the Adepta can fill. Making Formations where some units are Adepta and some are Grey Knights gives a nice combo of Shooting, Psychic and Melee units.

And on the other hand it allowes GW to continue to highlight the new Chaos Space Marine releases while adding a "Khorne Daemonkin" styled wink to the Chaos Daemons in the Altar of War missions. A codex that bids its lore next to a gameplay mechanic with 2 vs 2 player focus would be awesome! One side Adepta Sororitas and Grey Knights. On the other, Chaos Space Marines and Chaos Daemons.

Thumbs up if you approve this codex :D

Good discussion on the subject. Went with the wife to pick up the new Sister model and this book, she was floored when she saw Celestine not included. Considering we worked hard on a very nice winged conversion from her original model, I didn't blame her. But then I took a closer look at the book myself and came to the same conclusion you guys did: none of this is a replacement.

i don't think it's to replace the codices, but if you want to use the detachments in the Imperial Agents book, then the units in the book are the ones you're limited to

I think there is a genuine use for the Grey Knight part of the book, it allows you to max more nemesis dreadknights whilst still maintaining the T1 reserves.

@miniwargaming When the book was released an article on the warhammer community site stated it was not intended to supercede ANY other books.

the tech priests and servitors can be used to repair knights in your war conclave. each tech priests can roll to repair hull points and the servitors can buff it up to a 2+ roll. with enough tech priests they will be pretty much invincible unless you can take them down in one round of shooting.

With the upcoming new Grey Knight character, is that small Nemesis strike force good to run with Space Marines?

I don't really get what's so hard to understand about this codex. It's clearly meant to 1. give the Sisters their physical codex back. 2. Bring together the various digital codices and dataslates the various smaller factions and extra units were left in into one physical package 3. Give Imperial factions some spice to add to their armies or patch their weaknesses. Example: Adeptus Mechanicus are a tad weak in the close combat and psychic phases. This codex lets them bring Deathwatch, Grey Knights and Astra Telepathica to compensate for those shortcomings without a) having to buy an entire codex for just a few models b) having to spend so many points on just one thing you want. As for whether stuff overrides or merely adds, I see it like this: what already has a physical rules format released isn't replaced or overwritten, but is merely transferred into a bite-sized format for factions to take as allies. What previously existed merely as digital editions (mainly the Assassins, Sisters and Inquisition) is overwritten, and the Imperial Agents is their new official rules format.

I, for one, am looking very excitedly into adding cheap 25 pts priests into my units of Grey Knights for that Zealot bonus.

Thanks to the FAQ, right now nobody can be put into a Valkyrie at deployment. (Thanks to Battle brothers rule).

its only says conjunction .... does not say replace, so my assumption, you use both.

I think the way this book will work is that it contains certain units from factions eg. Sisters, Grey Knights and Death watch. But it also contains several Full factions eg assassins inquisition etc
