birds begin to stir at the mornings first frosty breath of foggy dawn... soft sun to a now warming day... shaking off the sleep, I can't hear the birds but I know they're there... they stir me with their activity...I feel the stir of the wind from their wings...

Great lecture with your sharp, lucid and energetic voice. A great way to understand and admire the Ninth of Beethoven. You have demonstrated its quintessence in the best of terms.
Hearing from a maestro like you Mr. Giancarlo is an experience. :)
Thanks.

I really like the tempi in this performance. This piece has a large sense of urgency, and too many conductors take a leisurely pace.

Great lectures, very enjoyable, learned a lot. I hope the Maestro will repeat the format for other pieces. How about Beethoven overtures next??? Don't forget ode to Joy is also the Anthem of Europe 😉. Thank you for taking the time to teach us. Next time I am in Nashville I am definitely getting tickets for the Nashville Symphony orchestra!!

The first few bars of Ode to Joy are note for note the same as a passage from Mozart's k222.

It's really sad to know that your greatest work also the greatest of all time cannot be heard by yourself. It's really sad. The only knowledge of your composition is only through your imagination.
