His laugh is perfect to his character because you can’t quite tell if he’s laughing or crying

I love how Todd Phillips gives the majority of credits to Joaquin for his breathtaking performances and even credits the stuntman and other workers on set by names. It really gives a much more humble and sincere vibe to his presentation.

I actually felt sad to see arthur laughing on train trying to hold his pain, you can literally see it in his eyes. God this movie is so freaking great and satisfying and terrifying as well. 10/10

It's really crazy that this movie was made by the same guy who made hangover

I felt so sad when a tear shed down his left eye as he was using his fingers to force a smile on his face.

I saw the movie but I did not realize the flower joke when he was laying on the floor. Such a good detail I missed.

To me one of the most heartbreaking parts, is when he walks into Sophie’s house and she’s freaking out and he just mumbles “ I had a bad day” 😔

word.

This guy is genius. He teaches us how important are little details.

The first scene already made me cry. I'm not kidding. It just felt so sad and relatable. He was genuinely just trying to live.

it’s so sad that nobody stopped those kids to help Arthur. That scene were he was beaten up and left in the alley was heartbreaking and difficult to watch ..

Joaquin's joker gave us something with the Joker we never had before: humanity

Funny how he refers to the character as Arthur and not Joker, kind of informs the thought process.

Todd: Movie is meant to be unsettling
Critics: Didn't like it, made me feel unsettled
Me: WTF
Joker: We live in a society.
