The Fine Brothers are causing a lot of controversy among their YouTube fan base. They launched a new campaign on their channel, and many of their fans are not happy about it. Cenk Uygur and Ana Kasparian hosts of The Young Turks discuss.

Do you think The Fine Brothers are right? Let us know in the comments below.

“The creators of one of YouTube's biggest channels have sparked fury over plans to trademark and license a popular video format.

The Fine Brothers produce a popular series of "reaction videos", in which people watch online clips and respond.

On Tuesday, they revealed a scheme to let other video-makers use assets from their version of the format.

But they have faced a backlash from viewers for trademarking "react" - a term widely used by other creators.”

TYT forgot to mention the fact that the Fine Bros trademarked THE WORD REACT! A SINGLE WORD! They have also taken down videos and entire channels for making videos with the word React in the title. Their douchebaggery is far beyond what TYT mentioned here. I am 100% on Ana's side in this matter.

I have trademarked breathing. If you desire to breathe, you have to pay me a small loan of a million dollars.

They're not "creators" they just point a camera at someone who reacts to someone else's work. Plus they didn't invent it.
The young Turks aren't "creators" either. You're ripping off the news.
You didn't "create" the subject you just talked about, you just talked about it.
None of you have created anything, and it's all been done before.
You have to actually create something to be a creator.

Finebros: did you say an allergic reaction?
Me: yes

A TYT video nobody can dislike, cause the Finebros will sue you for reacting.

She's right, NO ONE OWNS REACTIONS

They're not talking about stealing a logo or someones graphics. I think we all can agree that that's wrong. It's more like if Jay Z was gonna try to copyright hiphop.

I'm not even mad, I couldn't care less about reaction videos, I just find it funny how they're losing subs and getting dislikes that I simply want to be a part of it.

They deleted their react world and apology video. The funny part, is that made people even more mad! XD

Japan should sue Fine Brothers for stealing their idea of watching people watch videos and reacting then commenting afterwards. It's called regular TV and they've been doing it long before Fine Brothers or Youtube.

I agree with her. You can't trademark common things. By using his logic, a person could argue young Turks is ripping off news talk shows. The fine brothers are extremely egotistical by saying a person has to license something through them as common as reactions.

I'm trademarking the word "I". anytime you refer to yourself as "I" you owe me.

I'd say them trying to trademark "React format", would be as silly as Pewdiepie trying to trademark "Lets Play format"
