The craziest thing about this "contraversy" is that in the same interview that clip is from, Tyler HIMSELF said that his words would be taken out of context and that would be the only thing that would be taken from the interview because the internet loves drama.

I think theres a dif between "unserious topically but passionate about the artform" (odd future) and "unserious and ripping off/making a mockery of the artform" (what i think tyler was trying to criticize)

Yes Tyler seemed unserious but he was actually putting a bunch of time and effort into his music. He even used to call himself a try hard

he didnt sell out, he grew the fuck up and is much wiser and experienced now. He said nothing but facts.

Tyler was saying he doesnt like it when people who dont care about music, just make low effort viral music for the $$$.
They have no love for the craft or the art form.

The thing about Tyler was that when he first became popular I just dismissed him as some attention seeking kid trying to get fame through cheap shock value.

Then I actually listened to Bastard and Goblin. While there were some pretty cringe lyrics and themes that screamed 'i'm an edgy teenager', it was also impossible to ignore how much his talent oozed through his music.

He produced almost everything himself. He knew how to create a melody. How to achieve atmosphere in his music. How to be intriguing and interesting beyond just the sexual horror of his lyrics. He was very honest and vulnerable about his negative emotions in a way most rappers would never dream of being even today. You could see that this teenager had a lot of talent and I'm not at all surprised he's become so successful over the decade or so since.

I don't know if I can say that about a lot of the 'flavour of the month' young rappers out there going viral on TikTok today. There are definitely young talents out there, but you have to work hard to find them.

The funny part about this is that Tyler didn't say opinions, he said pure facts and his receipts their words.

At the end of the day Tyler is right. Despite him trolling etc he was still doing shit to find his sound.

watching tyler and his interviews with nardward and how he talks a lot about music like he's a walking music encyclopedia made me think tyler really loves his craft so much and really a true artist

So...Tyler was spitting some fact, people said that's cap let the boy cook, only to get a taste and immediately said to get that boy out the kitchen and never let him cook again? Meh, sounds like a typical Tuesday at this point.

He’s right tho Ian is like 100% a industry plant in my opinion caps in his rap stole so many artist style of music just for it to be still garbage

The only reason yt rappers outdo black rappers is because yt people only support yt rappers majority. How many yt ppl have you asked "do you like rap" and they say "no, but i love Eminem" thats when i knew, they only support yt rap artists. Since yt ppl make up the majority in america. This is what you run into.
