Abseiling / Rappelling with a Munter Hitch

Here's a technique that I use if I need to abseil / rappel with only 1 locking carabiner and a Munter Hitch (check out other videos on how to tie one). If you are able to tie a prusik on the brake rope as a 'third hand', that would be safer.

This technique should be used as a last resort as it will wear down your rope faster.

This demo is for information purposes and not an instructional video. Abseiling / Rappelling can be dangerous if done incorrectly so do so at your own risk!

So when you're at the top of the pitch and lose your belay plate you must climb back down and anchor the other side of the rope to the ground 🙃

Gotcha, so
1. Never extend my rappel
2. Carabiner MUST be facing left
3. Brake strand MUST be on the right
4. Absolutely no third hand

Thanks for this informative video on how to execute a munter
