Abby story: I'm going to go with NTA! The parents essentially abandoned their teenager for 7 years. Admittedly, they had a seriously ill younger child that needed their attention, but the parents went about this in absolutely the wrong way. They essentially told OP that she didn't matter, only her sick sister did. They could have made OP a part of this to not feel left out of the family, but they didn't and it hurt OP deeply. And now that they've lost the younger child, they want the older child that they ignored back to make up for that loss. OP has every right to be angry. It will take a very long time on the parent's part with major apologies to ever become a part of OP's life again. Update: Good on you OP for explaining to your parents what they did to you, that they lost a daughter but you lost your entire family. I hope it works out.

Pajamas story: Despite the update I say NTA! I don't have a problem with the pj policy being modified for breakfast as long as they have time to be dressed and ready for school. Quite frankly one of the things I just shake my head at is going somewhere (usually the store, but other places as well) and seeing people shopping or whatever in their pajamas and slippers. It just amazes me they take so little pride in their appearance, even for a shopping trip. And these are often otherwise good looking people. Yeah, you don't have to dress to the nines like you're going out for the evening, but good grief, put at least a little effort out to get dressed. I'm glad you had the talk with your daughter and took action to get her to the doctor for tests. I hope the treatments help her.

Cheating story: First off, NTA! Zach, STBX is short for Soon To Be Ex. Even before the update played I was thinking the marriage was over anyway. I'm glad OP managed to talk to the husband and discovered the truth of the situation. I'm also glad OP got custody of his child, all things considered it's probably better than what otherwise could have happened. I do admit to some curiosity and wonder if the husband had the other children DNA tested?

16:37 him stumbling over his words and then that awkward sound of frustration made me laugh! Thank goodness I wasn't drinking anything.

#1: Fully agree with Zack...they abandoned one daughter to concentrate fully on the other. Granted they had a sick child to deal with, but they totally abandoned their other child for 7 years.

I wonder if we will get Zach back or if we will continue with all the re-uploads. I have heard these stories so many times, I am getting disgruntled with the people preventing Zach from from uploading new stuff. BRING ZACH BACK!

ay so I also have a sleep disorder called Idiopathic Hypersomnia so I've done a bit of reading on narcolepsy too. There's two types of narcolepsy, one is with cataplexy and one is without. The guy you're taking about who just falls asleep out of nowhere like while doing dishes, has cataplexy, it seems like the girl in the story doesn't have that which makes it much harder to realise something is wrong because theres no overt symptom other than being tired.

An easy solution that got me out of my pajama all day tendency: don't wear any, or sleep in your underwear. That way, when you get out of bed, you won't have much of a choice but to change. Well, for most people, I had a teenage friend that basically lived in his underwear at this house, guest or no guest, with male or female friends coming there.
Anyway, it looks like a very unimportant point to spend your authority on. Because, yes, authority is like a currency: the more you mint, the less it's worth. Use it sparingly. Make it precious. Let your kid make all and any mistakes they want unless they are very destructive or crossing personal boundaries by just teaching and warning them of the consequences, give them responsibility. That's how they'll become responsible and competent. And that's how your word will become law for them when the time comes when accepting your authority is important.

Story One: NTA
OP's parents treated their daughter like GARBAGE, basically treating her MORE like the family dog instead of an ACTUAL human being!
"Oh OP, we want you to meet up with us, so we can be a FaMiLy again!" Nope, SORRY! You HAD your chance to treat and give your children love, but you played favorites with ONE daughter!
Yes, they had a sick daughter "To take care of", but they've NEGLECTED AND ABANDONED their other daughter for 7 years, like a DOG! Personally, I would've just told the parents to screw themselves, because they've chosen to be by Abby's side than think about BOTH daughters!
THEY'VE missed out on OP's EVERYTHING in her life: High school, graduation, birthdays, holidays, special moments....! What, did they think that with Abby gone now, they can move onto OP again?
I'm willing to bet that Abby's ANGRY at her parents, and even HATES them for the way they've treated her sister! It's parents like these that pisses me off; the kind who neglects and abandons their kids in favor of their other kids.

PJ story. Lol I remember wanting to be in PJs all the time when I was a kid but also in my time blue jeans had no spandex in them and if you gained any weight the brass button would leave a indent in your tummy at the end of day and bras would leave red marks in your back and under bust. I don't miss those days.

Im not very forgiving at times. I will never forgive someone who was never a father to me. If i was OP and my parents had tossed me out and favored my sister, even if she had a terminal sickness, I’d tell them how much hurt they put me through, I don’t see them as my real parents anymore, and have fun living the guilty life you both supposedly feel without me because where i see it, I’m not your daughter anymore. Goodbye forever.
Harsh, but its sucks when your basically the least cared for in the family.

Abby: NTA. When I was 12 my 18/19 year old brother needed most of my parents attention for a year +/-. My 16 year old brother basically watched me, 12, and my 8 year old sister. He was kind of a dick. I still have a scar on my chin almost 50 years later from one incident - I tripped on a concrete step - not because he hit me, but his actions led to my downfall, as it were.

Kids get deathly ill all the time. Sometimes those kids are in families with other kids. Obviously fucking up and not paying enough attention to the healthy child is probably pretty common, but I'm pretty sure completely abandoning the healthy child isn't that common. Most loving and caring parents at least TRY to do their best to take care of all their kids

I think the pj rule is fine. To me, pjs outside the home is big no no cos it seems slobby imo. These things my bf is fine with, but no go for me. Guess its a cultural thing, since bf is American, I’m Scandinavian 🤷🏼‍♀️
