I disagree on the last story.

The wife is lazy and completely detached from reality, made zero effort to change and even had the nerve to humiliate OP in front of the in-laws. She wants a sugar daddy, not a husband, so OP is stepping out so she can pursue that.

I’m not gonna touch the first story, because we all fucking know.

But for that last one… I honestly think that his retort was him breaking through the fog. It’s the first truthful thing either of them have said in a long time and the only non infuriating part of the entire story.

Jen doesn’t want to change house or jobs, which means she wants either to drown or to have OP save them single handedly. That’s not a partnership, that’s not a marriage, so either she changes to help alleviate the external financial stressors, or… the non marriage becomes official

Story 1: The fact that he got upset when OP told her mom what happened indicates he wasn't actually sorry. He wanted her back so he could do it again, or worse. He got upset someone else knows and that he'll get in trouble for his actions. OP needs to run from him
