The fact that jane is not her real name makes sense because it's literally the feminine of john Doe, which is used to name *unrecognized* dead bodies and such.

My headcanon is that her early tenure as a Criminal Behavior Specialist is what might have led her to pursue this line of work within PubSec. It's also worth noting that while she's in the same faction as the other officers, her NEPS logo is different and her background in the Squad selection is different from the blue that Zhu, Qinyi and Seth has.

I'm also inclined to think that her real name is Jane Doe because of her old NEPS ID but that could also just be an undercover ID. A sort of secondary ID that they made for Jane so no one could track her real identity if in case some criminal org infiltrated the database of NEPS. This is all while she's still recognizable among her peers who are in the know whenever she's on infiltration duty. For example, Tomiya knows who Jane is but is also careful not to reveal or give away that she's affiliated with NEPS

Some random fact about Jane.
1. She loves instant noodles and that's mostly her diet (aside from energy bars).
2. She's dancing with the idea of taking the very explicit Bangboo Statue beside the W-engine shop as a reference for a new disguise. Take that as you will
