Cheap 1x12 MTB Conversion using SRAM XX1 Eagle

I take my 2016 Trek Xcalber 8 from a older 2x10 drivetrain to the new 1x12 SRAM XX1 Eagle with a SunRace Cassette

Parts Used:

SRAM XX1 Shifter
SRAM XX1 Derailleur
SunRace CSMZ90 11-50T Cassette reviewed in a previous video
KMC X12 Chain
SRAM GXP NX 1x Crank

I was skeptical when I saw "Cheap" and "XX1 Eagle" in the same sentence, but you did get it for a steal at $200 for the shifter and derailleur. Great video.

Is this possible on a Trek Marlin 5 with the 3 x 7 drivetrain? Is there room for a 1 x 12 on the rear hub? Is the fit even compatible? Thanks and great video.
