I've spent a lot of time trying to make my portable welding setup more practical, and I think I've found the solution. Best of all, it's less than a grand!

I ordered one of those power stations...This has been one of the most impressive illustrations of what that power station can do, great video.

I'm looking to get into welding for hobby, and misc fix-it jobs while on the road, me and my significant other do travel nursing with a truck and small trailer. We already carry that invertor pack, this video is great showing the power of having a small welder! Nobody likes dealing with big generators, the noise, the fuel, and the exhaust.

The Battery Pack.
Was especially good for tacking up a job.
As you did towards the end of the video.
Thanks for showing us a great idea.
Peter.

I rewired an old Sears MIG welder that bit the dust to run on 2 Optima Deep Cycle batteries. That thing was a beast. No problem welding a trailer hitch together out of steel.

You can also use a 12v-120v inverter that runs off your car battery. Just start the car, plug in the flux core welder and you’re good to go

I've done it with the new 60v amp batteries but it can't push no more than 75 to 85 amps for a certain amount of time before shutdown, maybe an HR.and half which is plenty of time to complete a small job. I love mine and yes I know it was an expensive set up ( about $ 1400 with the new 60v flexvolt batteries), but don't care since I'm a dewalt cordless tool owner and this type portability with out the gas and noise of a generator is priceless to me. Looking to get the cordless battety welder from dewalt but is too expensive right now ( about 5 k) so I'll wait until they go down in price eventually.

That's crazy that your getting the dewalt inverter generator off flex volt batteries is running that mig machine

pretty coool. I havent seen the DeWalt power station in europe. There are a few videos of people (mag) welding using car batteries. Never tried it my selfe.

What gas generator would you recommend to run a welder off of?

that's cool but, for the price I would rather get a cheap gas powered generator.

Not good with Miller mig weld but why cut-off circuit breaker again with flash led indicator
