CRUISE NEWS - First Time Carnival Cruiser Falls Off Cruise Ship

Sad new coming from the Carnival Magic. A first cruiser fell overboard while learning over his balcony. Also I have incredible pictures of two men sitting on the outside of the Carnival Dream in Costa Maya. Plus did I make it to London. Let's talk about it.

There have been so many recent reports of people "falling" off a cruise ship that I measured the distance from floor to top of balcony railing on my last cruise (ended May 8, 2023). It was 46 inches. There are other parts of the ship where the railings are even higher. This is well above my waist--I could not lean over and fall. Maybe someone who is 7 feet tall could. So, as Don said, on each ship I've been on, you would have to be doing something stupid or intentional to fall off the balcony. I feel sorry for his family and friends, but he didn't just "fall overboard."

It's great to see y'all together. About falling off a cruise ship. Funny thing is...I just posted a short video today about that. You have to work really hard to "fall" off a cruise ship. That being said, I am so sorry about what happened to this person. So sad.

The Carnival Magic is docked here in Norfolk VA. They say he was pretty drunk as he was leaning over the balcony railing, then he fell in. I was in my first balcony room last year and those railings are pretty high. It was up to my chest and it's not like he was over 7 ft tall. Like Don confirmed, yes you can fall into the water if you're doing something stupid/careless. R.I.P. because it's sad his cruise ended that way.

Any loss of life is a tragedy... and my heart goes out to the family... I never understand why anyone would try to lean over the balcony railings, they are high, and they are there for a reason.
