Why We Should Stop Saying “My Truth”

It’s common today to hear people say; “Maybe that's true for you, but it's not true for me.” This makes sense when it comes to our favorite ice cream flavor, but doesn't account for objective things like science and mathematics and makes no allowance for transcendentals like Goodness and Beauty.

In John 14:6, Jesus says, "I am the way and the truth and the life." Today, Fr. Mark-Mary shows us how to focus on Jesus as the Truth, and ensure that we don’t attempt to put ourselves in the place of God.

This precise matter has bothered me for a long while, ever since it started and it has increasingly led to the degeneration of our society and civilization. I've obviously spoken up against it, but it is next to meaningless unless everybody who are in communion with the Truth also proclaims the Truth as it has been revealed through the Catholic Church.

The increase in the use of "my truth" is certainly not unexpected. As you mentioned, it is an example of relativism. As our society moves more to the acceptance of "there are no absolutes, " "my truth" will become more ubiquitous. Facts and reason are becoming endangered, heading towards extinction. SMH
