I love the design which obviously is proven as many very old distilleries still use them. I have never seen anyone use one of these with a flavoring thumper in between the still and condenser. will they not work well? thanks, tom

very good and very clear explanations and video. thank you for sharing. I'm not sure what still to chose? Are there better choice than other to start and? pot still vs reflux still vs fractionnating still. what is the "best" choice? thanks

Thank you. But is it really necessary to separate heads during first distillation? If you make two-steps distillation, then during the first process there is no need to separate fractions, this will be done during the second step.

Does is smell a lot when you are distillng for 4 hours in your kitchen? Great video, by the way. So you have 10 ltr alembic and your input is 9 ltrs of wine - the out put 2 litters of 80% proof alcohol. Right?

I have started making mixed malt whisky (barley, corn and sweet sorghum), total 30L of mash. I have some queries regarding distillation. When alcohol starts coming... How much initial alcohol to be discarded. Any thumb rules ???

No mention of throwing away the methane alcohol??? If that’s a 5 gallon distiller please throw away the first 100 cc.
