Interesting to say the least. It sure would be cool to have The Master for a neighbor. Can't wait for the follow up. Thanks George, you da man 😉

Another great vid ..its always a good time in Uncle George's garage .. doesnt it require an onion dome to be a true alimbic ?

Thanks, George, for showing us this multipurpose device. I think calling it an Alembic is just marketing hype. Google Alembic and you will see a curved vessel made from copper with a small domed chamber above it (onion) which is connected to a lyne arm that decreases in diameter and is then connected to a worm condenser inside a second cylindrical vessel. If you stare at it it looks like a scaled-down pot still from Scotland. The Onion actually does provide some reflux: vapors rise, hit the curved walls of the Onion, and re-condense. Somewhat.

My main concern about an imported device like this is the gasket on the lid: what’s it made of? If it’s not HDPE it will degrade in contact with ethanol and leach who knows what into your product. When it does degrade, how do you replace it?

I caution your viewers to be careful about everything that comes into contact with ethanol, including gaskets, hoses, hydrometer jars, tubing etc. Safety and health first and foremost.

The above concerns not withstanding, a device that lets you mash, ferment and distill in one vessel is a great way to get started in this hobby.

the google translate app will translate chinese using the phone camera, i've had to use that plenty of times.

The top piece (alembic condenser) "just sits on top". Doesn't it need to be sealed to not leak? I think I am missing something. My apologies as I am still learning. Thank you George, I am loving learning from you.🌷🌷

There are phone applications that will translate the text contents of anything you photograph not sure how well these work with Chinese, or what dialect of Chinese it maybe written in.

Just received one of these last week. The lid was bent. they said they would send a replacement when the factory was back open. (Feb. 10). When I opened it the smell almost knocked me over. Not sure what it is but makes me a little uneasy. Will need to clean REALLY well.

I wonder if the Chinese sell most of these stills in China or overseas? Are Chinese allowed to do home distilling?

Learning alot, thanks to you, George! I'm looking for an off-grid still. Medium sized. Would like to be able to make essential oils, too.
Any ideas?

Interesting find there. I'm not sure how I'd feel about fermenting though. Seems like you're still have to transfer into something to clean the trub/yeast cake . As always, Looking forward to the follow up video.

You sure do a lot of figuring there George me I was wondering what you do with all these stills after you review them if you ever decide that you need to sell any of them let me know. Haven't forgotten you getting ready to send your care package this week should be cool enough to ship you great granddads yeast.

I wish I could do distillations here where I live. Can't even own a single piece of a still unless you have a $4000 permit.

Can you post a link to where you bought that still

Hey George! Love your videos. again from Madison county Arkansas what used to be reviewed as the wettest dry county in the state. I know the popcorn Sutton type recipes been running that way for a long time and you have put a little technology in my system that has increased my yields in my runs. I am thankful for your information cuz you taught me things the old hillbillies didn't. But maybe you and I should have a chat and combine both our methodds and give popcorn his do. I've spoken to you once on the phone but you get so many calls I'm sure and I doubt you remember me answer this reply and I'll send you my phone

I actually ran across this today and was curious. How is the electrical different or will it plug in and work with our system?
