What's one thing people don't understand about India? India isn't just a slum!

Indian cities are actually pretty normal. They're mostly suburbs where families live in flats or houses. People go to work, school, and college. There are parks, malls, fast food, I.T. parks, and a ton of incredible history.

The reality is, as my own parents discovered, when you come to India, you'll realise it's not what you've seen on TV or in movies.

I can relate. Same thing with the Philippines. The slums are always featured in the media because it’s classified as a third world or developing country. In reality there are people who live in the suburbs, condos, go to work in high rise buildings etc. There are big modern malls, theaters, clubs, restaurants, country clubs etc.

That’s actually great to hear. As an American we’re not taught this in schools. We very briefly go over the history of other cultures especially when I was in high school many years ago. It’s great that people like you are bringing awareness to such a beautiful country. Thank you for these!

1 year ago I've talked with a American women from Arizona so after some time I asked her what do u think about me and my place then she send me a picture of slums of Mumbai then she wrote down may be better than this a little bit ..I felt so bad about her imagination because my country it's a gem and everything is here and nobody knows about India untill they visit it the they will feel it ....❤️🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳
