There are many reasons for your car knocking, from something just minor to a piston. Find out here, could just be time for an oil change, or something's loose around the motor .Thank us later

Fantastic advice .If you don't know what it is take it to someone else. Mine started ticking at 80 mph. When I reach 88 mph I stopped the car and realised I was back in the 1950's. Thanks for the advice.

Check your oil! I just left the mechanic and 4 of them said it was a way bigger problem but you could tell they was amping up the thought it was a bad fix. One of the mechanics said well your so low on oil it may just be that. The other 4 looked at him like he shouldn’t say that. I researched and kept seeing people saying it was probably just low oil and sure enough it stopped when I put more oil in!!!! Thank you for this video! Guys on here are saints for letting know these things!!!

If you car makes a ticking noise when it's cold and then it goes away after it's warmed up, you have a manifold leak. It could just be a loose bolt or a more severe problem.

Serpentine belt, fuel injectors, pulleys and spark plugs can cause ticking

PLEASE ! Check your oil level before bringing it to a mechanic. If it is low on oil the mechanic can tell you that its something else and will rob you of your hard earned money.
I had a ticking/clinking sound for 3 days i thought it was something else until i finally checked my oil. My oil tank was empty.
I filled up the oil tank and the sound was gone.

I have a NISSAN SR20DE (1991 p10 infiniti G20).
I get a tick/clatter that increases with the rpms BUT ONLY WHEN ACCELERATING (WHEELS ON THE ROAD). When I have the front end off the ground and rev the engine or when I let it idle, there is ZERO tick/clatter.
I recently changed the lifters, rocker arms, cams, timing chain, tensioner, oil pick-up, oil filter. This noise was heard once I drove the car after changing these items.
The cams, rocker arms and hydraulic lifters are 2nd hand. I cleaned out the oiler tubes that spray over the cam journals and verified the holes in the tubes were clear. I cleaned out the gunk in the lifters and bled the air out before installing them. I did not change any of the shims that are between the valve stems and the base of the rocker arms.
I would expect to hear this noise ALL the time if it were due to a lifter or even a shim that was not the correct size.
The noise is heard ONLY when the manual transmission is engaged and the engine is under load (accelerating).

I'm not sure where I came across the tip, trying higher octane gas or going to a cleaner gas station helps.

Mine ticks when I first start it but it goes away after driving a bit. Does that say anything about it?
