Fun Fact: Christoph Waltz was worried that people would always remember him as a villain because of Hans Landa, so Tarantino had him cast as Dr. Schultz in Django Unchained

What made Hans Landa so special was that he was both memorable and at the same time believable. He was not evil for evils sake and probably couldn't care less about NS ideology. He did evil because he was paid for it and he took pride in being good at his job... He's a prime example for being both highly empathic and yet absolutely ruthless. The first scene really showed it. Plus, he was a good example of how asking the right questions can serve you more than trying to torture someone for the answers. This scene has so much subtleties and is so rewatchable.

Hans Landa is not only the best villain in the Tarantino universe, but one of the best villains of all time. Christoph Waltz is a special talent

3 Villains from Kill Bill; Bill, O-Ren, and Elle. But personally I really think Sidewinder aka Budd being the poorest, most physically overweight and aloof demeanor of the DVAS caught me off guard when he was the only one to actually nearly kill Beatrix aka The Bride.

What I loved about Hans Landa is that he was VERY hard to outwit. Especially when it comes to how fluent he is in many languages.

I heard Leonardo DiCaprio had a moment where he wanted to stop shooting a scene in Django Unchained due to the evil lines he was saying, and then Samuel L. Jackson came over to encourage him to keep staying in character.

Damn, this is a toss-up between Calvin Candie and Hans Landa in my personal opinion. If I had to give it to one or the other, I would give the slightest edge to Hans. As soon as you see him on screen, you know you're in for something special. I mean, when you see that look he gives Shoshana at the cafe after she and he both know who the other one truly is... *chef's kiss*..You can't teach that. It's astounding and absolutely terrifying.
