I have made it this way and it’s worth the time to let those lemon peels sit overnight. I also read that a small dash of vanilla mellows the tartness and makes for a smoother lemonade, so I tried that and I agree. Delicious!

Can be done with any citrus with a peel woth oil! Makes a mean limeade! Gonna try it with oranges and grapefruits too!

You can do the same thing with any citrus peel that has oils in it! I do this now and again with grapefruit, and it makes the best grapefruit sodas and cocktails!
