An updated interface and new workflows in HALion 7 will help to make your sound design and music production tasks faster and easier. The new Home screen features a range of options for getting started quickly, while the new MediaBay makes it much simpler to find sounds from virtual instruments. I’ve been a Halion user for years, and the quality of life improvements alone are worth it. I can’t wait to dive in deeper.

It’s a shame that so many people dismiss this ludicrously powerful and amazing synth. It isn’t the easiest to use at first, but once you get your head around it, you’ll reach for it more than any other synth you own.

Hi Dom. This was an excellent video as usual from you. Thank you so much for making it. I have a few questions. Are all of these new features found in Cubase 12 or do you have to have the New Cubase 13 to access these new features? My others question is will using these new features will I be able to search for “Pluck” sounds. I have been looking for Pluck sounds in Cubase for a while and I haven’t been able to find them. I have Cubase 12 and after watching this video I am hoping that I can find “Pluck” sounds in Cubase 12 until I can purchase Cubase 13. I would appreciate it very much if you can answer these few questions. As usual I wish continued success with all of you videos and all of your musical endeavors. If anyone out there can help, pls do. Is there a way of auditioning loops in MediaBay at halftime or double time? This would be much more convenient, rather than dropping the loop into the project then time-stretching it.

Hi, does Halion 7 contain the same presets as the Yamaha Montage? I have tested Halion Sonic some years ago and a lot of the MOXF presets were inside, so I would like to know if buying Halion 7 today would be the same as buying a Montage? (I talk only about sounds of course). Thanks :)

Hey there! I reinstalled Halion 7 and suddenly my mediabay is empty. If I look for the sounds manually I can find them but I can no longer see the libraries as shown in this video. Can someone please help me?

I bought Halion 6 about 2 years ago and didn't manage to create a single sampled instrument myself. All in all it's very very detailed and powerfull but for a hobby user like me even with the manual it's waaay to complicated to use without proper guidance - and the very few existing tutorials sadly didn't help much either.. I'm gonna wait for a full detailed tutorial before upgrading and then decide .. I'm very curious

It’s not easy to find just the new sampled sounds. There are no tags for Halion version, the new sounds are not in a separate library, and if you sort them by date modified, you can’t sort them by anything else.

He shows searching in the media bay, but no presets show up. Isn't that the point, to find the presets so you can load them? How is that step not shown, or did they forget to implement it, so we just get the thumbnails of libraries? Hmmm...
