Ahsoka's Trial (Clone Wars Deleted Scene)

This deleted scene was supposed to be in Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 5 episode 20, but ended up getting cut.

I love that this scene references so many events that Ahsoka was involved in. They should've kept it in.

Tarkin dropping a bomb of a question on the Jedi order shows how the Order has fallen.

Tarkin: “Then why did they expel her?”

Almost everyone in that room knows exactly why. The fact that nobody brings it up shows how the trial is a joke and how the Order lost its way. It doesn’t even help that its being controlled by a sith who only used it to remove an obstacle and a threat.

Edit: This scene should have made the final cut. It adds so much and Ahsoka’s reason to leave makes more sense.

shame that time constraints are most likely to blame for a lot of great scenes being cut, 22 minutes an episode is 22 minutes.

Tarkin claims he's not biased by prosecuting Ahsoka despite saving his life, but he actually is. He admitted the recording of Ahsoka 'killing' Letta was tampered with since the sound wasn't working, yet claims it's solid evidence that and Ahsoka complaining about Letta not being in jedi custody are proof she is the bomber. He also arrogantly claims not one could break into their military facility, despite last season having Obi-Wan disguised as a criminal and Cad Bane breaking out.

I'm telling you, if any military officer BUT Tarkin was leading this investigation, they would've found Barriss, and Ahsoka wouldn't have to be put on trial.

It's seems obvious that Tarkin just wanted an excuse to get rid of Ahsoka because she's a jedi, and most likely Palpatine put him up to it since he tried to scare the court by claim the bombing could be a Separatist plot.

So, Tarkin more of less pressured the Jedi to expel her so she could "Have a fair trial under the Republic's court" And then uses the fact the Jedi expelled her as proof of her being guilty.

That's corruption and a half, AND his own bias/influence of the trial!

I feel like this scene provides so much depth to the Order and what it became. Ahsoka, in many ways, was a model Jedi, but they lost their way so much during the war that people forgot what that meant.

Honestly Tarkin convincing Palpatine to strike Padme's testimony about Ahsoka saving her life on Alderaan from the record is such trash. (Not bad writing in the show that was uncool on Tarkin's part) that testimony was evidence Padme saw with her own eyes. Tarkin was so hypocritical in this

REALLY wish they had kept this in. In the final episode, Padme's defense during the trial feels really useless, like an afterthought almost, whereas this makes her case a lot stronger. I also enjoy that this scene fills in the gaps of how Tarkin feels far more than we got to see in the finished product. It always did seem odd to me that Tarkin is so harsh on Ahsoka despite her saving his life at the Citadel, and here he actually discusses that and it gives him a tiny bit more depth as a character.
