What to do AFTER you FLATTENED your island 🪓 | 5 TIPS FOR REBUILDING | Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Flattening your island can be really overwhelming.
Sometimes you're not really sure how or where to get started.. So in today's video I'm sharing some tips & tricks I've learned after flattening and rebuilding my island several times. I got some pretty good comments on my last video of wether you should flatten or restart your island which inspired me to dive more deep to this topic!
I'm also giving you guys a sneak peek of what I've been working on over on my foresty theme northern hemisphere island 🌲

🪓 Ps. Obviously these are just some tips that have helped me out and these are not the only way to go so if something else works for you, definitely go with that! This video is mainly for if you don't know how/where to get started! And if you have any additional tips to share feel free to do so in the comments! 🤗

I can't express how helpful the starting from the back of the map tip is. Not only does it make it easier to map out how much room you have as you said, but it just makes doing landscaping that relys on perspective so much easier as the camera is always facing North, and so you can see what you're doing as you work your way to the front of the map and make some AMAZING viewpoints. Thank you so much - it's literally made landscaping after resetting 5x easier for me <33

I have huge respect for anyone that flattened their island.
I simply couldn't do that, let alone a restart. No, just no.
My island is very simple, very open, not much terraforming, but I just love it so SO MUCH. ><
But really, if you feel like you have to take that step, then do it and good luck. 8)

These tips are amazing! I have no plan flattening my island because I just restarted it (I feel like flattening is too overwhelming), but your tips still work for me. I feel like these are very helpful decorating tips in general. Especially the using reference photos one! As an artist, we are always told to use reference photos to improve our art, so it just makes sense to use it in animal crossing as well. More people in general should watch this video. I'm glad I stumbled into this.

I restarted my island because i was just so frustrated and burnt out with the layout of my airport and resident services, etc. got three stars last week and now I’m working on flattening it out for the ultimate reset. Thank you SO much for this, I was so lost on how to start decorating, this was so helpful

tysm 4 the tips!! for anyone who sees this one of my best tips is to literally just flatten a tiny section in the back and terraform it, while you still have the whole rest of ur island. then flatten the next section over and terraform that, etc. that way if you're unhappy with how it looks your whole island isn't lost and you can put it back to the way it was!!😊 also keep the houses, buildings, etc away until you finish the terraforming. this helps a lot and once your island layout is done you can mark where the buildings are going to be and decorate around them. once everything is ready and all you need are the houses, shops, etc then you can place them!! i don't know, this might not be everyone's way to go but this definitely helped me <3 leaving this here for myself in the future as well!! (thinking of flattening my island) sorry for the long paragraph but i really hope this could help uu!

I flattened my first island, got so overwhelmed and left it for months. I just restarted, and still on the fence about if I want to flatten or not. This video at least makes me feel more at ease about the idea.

Honestly, I may just use existing cliffs as a starting place, but there were some helpful tips in here I can still use 😊
