Why Wuthering Waves Looks Like a Genshin Clone

Is it a Clone, or Upgrade?
There's been a lot of talk about Wuthering Waves and people seem to be split between calling it a Genshin Clone, or a Genshin Killer.
I wanted to give my opinion on the matter, because I think the whole thing is being blown out of proportion.

It genuinely baffles me how actual, real people can put so much effort into making a near indistinguishable copy of something else. Most of these screenshots are totally indistinct from Genshin, the UI is EXACTLY the fucking same, even the fucking scale and camera angle and every little detail. It's somewhere between disgusting and astounding.

3:53 the PROBLEM is that people are denying it because THEY think it's a problem, when it isn't. it's a clone with some enhacements. so what? why are you so defensive over it? just accept the fact that it is and continue on w ur support. nobody's gonna come for u for enjoying a freaking game, just don't be delusional about it bc that's where our issue lies.

first day game is out, i had no idea it was compared as hard, but first 30min and i felt like im playing worse version of genshin (making me google it). Literally UI, gameplay, materials, chests, flowers, primogems, simple things like tips... everything, literally EVERYTHING works and looks exactly the same way.
I really wouldnt it mind as much, but so far i had some small issues with the game itself and movement feels pretty bad, especially jumping feels like im playing an MMO or something. I still plan to give it a chance but it is rough right now

Is WuWa a Genshin Clone? Maybe. Do I care? No.

Basically, the reason why some Genshin players always call WuWa as a Genshin copy is due to their insecurities...They feel threatened that what if Genshin gets replaced by WuWa? What about the money they invested on the game? What about the time they sacrificed for the game? They can't face that truth...but all their worries are still unfounded, Genshin is still thriving and WuWa will succeed...Nobody said they can't be in the same space and same genre together

We need to tone down our hypocrisy thinking Genshin originally paved the way. It did not.

I didn't like genshin just because I couldn't get into the combat and I tried it three times because I really wanted to like it. I really like gray raven's combat and genshin with gray ravens combat is GOTY for me.

If Wuthering Waves was just Genshin with Punishing Grey Raven's combat and aesthetic, that's honestly a good enough for me to give it a chance. But I'd still keep Genshin installed because I do enjoy the story it's telling.

I can't wait for the WuWa and genshin pvp when it releases, for real though it's impossible for something like UI change. If it ain't broke DO NOT FIX IT, improve on it.

let's just say that mihoyo will have a competitor in this open world gacha game, and even, the limited weapon banners or weapon banners will 100% give the weapon for 80 pulls, there some nitpicks but, I don't know, wuthering might get the upper hand on launch or post-launch

Honestly maybe it's cause i don't read X(twitter), but i rarely see people saying WuWa is a genshin copy if not 0. I mainly hear it from people shitting on genshin when they pre-emptively say - "gesnhin stans gona do X".

Idk about WuWa doing certain things better - They kept the items falling out of chests part that is dumb especially if they are on cliffs lol.
+ CC started the WuWa echo better than genshin artifact trend day1, when on 2 day they probably realized it's more of a rng drain than genshin (ye you can farm them infinitely but tunners are not infinite and too many substats) but they won't make it a video cause it's not hype.
For me visually WuWa doesn't look the same to genshin except for the UI(btw i think they should improve the menus), like WuWa is more of a Chineese fantasy style, while genshin is more anime style. WuWa looks more like a better ToF than genshin

The editing of the video is trully amazing. Then I looked at you sub count.. It's almost criminal how you only have 60 subs (61 with me haha) while other content creators just copy paste the same old clips of their streams, pump them to YT and get thousands of views.

When Tower of Fantasy came I out, I really liked the combat and I really thought that was Genshin was missing but when I played that game longer it felt like a chore, tho I feel that sometimes with Genshin too but Genshin has regular updates and decent system. I don’t know why but I am thinking of comparing Wuthering Waves more to Tower of Fantasy for that matter.

The issue with WW copying Genshin is it lacks courage. They didn’t have the bravery to go out on their own and try to surpass Genshin originally. It even feels like plagiarism and undeserved honour. I would’ve loved for a company to challenge Genshin instead. A game that can’t even stand on its own feet will never last.
