it's been mentioned on the reddit, "brightness" here is more like gamma unlike other games, hence it being more contrasty compared to how other brightness settings work

The game actually looks good on HDR with minor tweaking on brightness, some parts just looks so dark you cant see, but the colored things like the Sakura tree ingmae is so majestic

Thats pretty much the case for all games i've played. Remember turning the brightness to the darkest on dark souls once and was amazed
