Rep. Porter questions Wells Fargo board members about fellow directors' past scandals

These 2 Wells Fargo board members resigned before coming to a House hearing today, but the remaining members have no business taking over the helm.

Congresswoman Katie Porter asked them a simple question for these outgoing directors: is presiding over major scandals a qualification to be on the Wells Fargo board?

The penalties leveraged against the criminals are trifling in scale compared to what they received from the crime itself. So I mean, yeah scandals are absolutely qualifications because it still spells profits.

Over 20 years ago I was a college student with a job at a coffee shop. My bank account was at Wells Fargo because it was a block away from my apartment. Every month I had overdraft fees for things I didn't buy. I'd walk in and they would tell "nicely" oh well you pending payments. I closed the account and went Bank of America. Since then I have never had a problem.

I wish Congress would look at the Department of Veterans Affairs. They would see exactly what Rep. Porter is describing among the senior executives in VA and so much worse.
