Photoshop can't drag and drop quick fix -2 minutes all windows versions

Just a word of warning: LUA stands for Limited User Account, and it is part of WIndows' security measures so that not every account can change just about anything without having administrator rights to do so. By disabling LUA (which is a global Windows setting here in the registry), you are basically making your computer less safe. Suppose a hacker somehow gains access to your computer with a regular account, then turning this option off might give that hacker more options to do harm to your PC than with this option still enabled. Personal choice, of course, just pointing it out :)

It should be warned that you are disabling UAC all together which will make you more vulnerable when it comes to running applications on windows

I started having this issue randomly and was going to follow this tutorial, but reading some of the comments made me think about any other recent changes I had made. I realized I had Photoshop checked to run as administrator in the compatibility settings. Once I unchecked that all when back to normal and I could drag files in without the need of making registry settings.

(Windows 10) Close Photoshop. Right click icon in start menu > Open file location > right click PS icon > properties > compatibility tab > under settings section uncheck "run this program as an administrator" if it's checked. Open Photoshop. This worked for me.

actually legit works for the last 6 months and I haven't noticed any side effects of this just checking on how to do it again after I factory reset my pc because of fraud

It worked fine for me! It seems like for some people it disables windows apps like photo viewer and such but i didnt have any problems like that. And keep in mind that if you would do this fix and had problems like what i mentioned before, you could always just set the regedit key back to 1.

This is so unsafe. Disabling Limited User Account won't warn you when malicious software is making changes to your computer. If you change this, change it right back when you're done with Photoshop.
