Photoshop drag and drop not working (Photoshop 2020 2021)

My Photoshop drug and drop tools don't work. I'm trying to drag and drop an image but it doesn't work in any way. Now close Photoshop. Right-click on the Photoshop icon and click on Open File Location. Then right-click on the Photoshop icon again and go to properties. Click on the Compatibility tab here. Then uncheck the Run the program as an Administration. Then click Apply. Then click OK. Now launch the Photoshop software. let’s see your problem is solved.

I must be missing something. I can't drag and drop, even though my UAC is off & PS is not running as admin at all. I've checked the EXE + the shortcut.

But why is Adobe complicating using their software?? Some functions are working only with admin, some not. Sometimes I'm frustrated by this

Thanks, this did help with Ps 2022, eventhough it did not have administration rights originally - but I first added them -> ran Ps -> closed Ps -> set admin rights back off -> ran Ps -> success!

For me, this wasn't the solution, but IT LEAD ME TO THE SOLUTION. So I wanted to add this comment and hopefully someone else finds it helpful. I was not "running photoshop as administrator", I did not have that box checked in properties. HOWEVER, I have a gesture software (where I can make gestures with my mouse to run programs, so instead of going and clicking on photoshop in my start menu, I draw a 'P' on the screen and photoshop opens. It's pretty nifty 😊) But here's the thing, I WAS running my gesture software AS ADMINISTRATOR. I use the gesture software throughout my entire system and so I have it automatically run as admin on startup. Because I STARTED photoshop with my admin level gesture software, it must've ran elevated. Because afterward I tried opening photoshop by clicking on the app directly instead of using a gesture and suddenly photos loaded no problem. tried to repeat it and confirmed. I open with gestures, no drag n drop. I open it manually, drag and drop works.
