How to Drag and Drop Files onto the Windows 11 Taskbar | Simple Solution! | Guiding Tech

One of the most annoying things about Windows 11 is that you cant drag and drop files to the taskbar into my editing app. Actually, not just this, but you can't drag and drop files into the Taskbar to quickly open it into another application window.

This is just super annoying, and I hate it. Now although Microsoft has said that they are working on a fix for this, but till the time that happens, let's take things into our own hands. Even though Microsoft re-introduced taskbar drag & drop capability in Windows 11 with 22H2 update in September 2022, that didn't work for me. It turned out that this was because I had UAC (User Access Control) completely disabled in registry (that's what I always did on my computers since Windows 7 days). I enabled it again under by setting EnableLUA back from "0" to "1" and then taskbar drag & drop started working. Microsoft forgot to fix this!
