How to make a meal of it 101....right here. Wasn't really what I'd call a proper splinter tbh it was a lot more like something just sticking out of his skin that was ridiculously easy, straight forward and simple to pull out (hence, why I couldn't really call it an actual proper splintarian).

Had a patient with finger pain for several weeks. Examined in several ways. The only thing I found was a dark streak under the finger nail. Only with looking under the nail by rolling the fingertip away from it did I find a flat 2cm splinter. Immediate relief when I removed it.
