Ah yes...the oh so sterile Kleenex. The splinter did have a rather large protruding end on it; plenty of area to grab with not so sterile pliers and not enter the wound. I hope he hobbled to the bathroom on his heel and gave that wound a proper rinse out with some water and betadine and a nice clean bandage after that.

Doc, love you mean it BUT these short videos suck. The shorties that I've watched were because I didn't check the duration first. You're the most entertaining doc on YT but my patients is running short. Haha, see what I did there? Twice.

It's surprising to know that even fairly small splinters leave a lot of debris behind in the wound. Large splinters leave an almost visible debris field like a plane crash. It's always good to bleed the wound as much as possible if possible or flush it with wound wash/saline.

Us here we don't even need doctor for such things we usually takes it out with our own hands and then add some medical for recovery.
