Great show guys! ‘Comment of the show’ for me was Lee: “All any professional guitarist cares about is does the guitar stay in tune?”. Amen to that brother. After making a living for 30 years as a session/touring guitarist, its the thing that i just cant get passed. I grew up on Strats woth locking systems, and then changed to Les Pauls and Tele’s…. Arggjh!. I still love my Les Pauls and Tele’s but if i buy one that won’t stay in tune, I sell it. Lifes too short to be tuning every 3 minutes lol. Thanks gentlemen 🤟

can you boys have an episode with all 4 of you where you each take any classic vibe guitar (strat, tele, jazzmaster...) and mod it i think it would be interesting to see what each of you do. maybe put it into teams of pete and dan for the tele extravaganza and mick and lee creating the strat of destiny. this would make for an awesome episode no matter what.

I'm at the part of the "cash rich & time poor" part of the fuzz convo.

If you are one of these, there is a pedal that people are reselling like crazy for really cheap called the pigtronix micro disnortion. It is a fuzz and an overdrive circuit.

You can choose whether it is done in series (mega fuzzy, and cleans up fairly well) and parallel (crisp articulate overdrive, that you can get pretty raunchy with the gain control).

There are several filter positions for the eq of the fuzz as well.

Start with that pedal in parallel and go nuts. (This will retain an attack quality that is more normal to you)

As your playing becomes more dynamic you will start to feel the response of the sustain/gating become more musical. When you begin to like that response (as opposed to being annoyed by it, which is typical of fuzz noobs, so dont feel bad), knock it over to series and go nuts.

There are a couple muff tones, a slightly bender-ish one, a fuzz face-ish one, and two weirdos on the filter control. Decide which you like, buy the real deal and sell the disnortion to someone who wants to go on the same journey.

I have an original 1995 Strat Plus Deluxe that has locking tuners, an LSR roller nut, and the Mini Fender Floyd Rose bridge. It’s not a very common combination; they didn’t make many of the Mini Floyd Roses… it will not go out of tune. Not exactly “vintage”… but it sounds damn good and I don’t have to worry about staying in tune at all.

The best trem is the one found on early Levinson Blade guitars. Falcon Tremolo System, look it up totally unique and it works!
