Hi! There is actually a better way of doing this. First of all, by using the method described in this video you can not only get unwanted parts of adjacent sections (as happened here) but you also disregard changes in tempo, markers, signature, etc. However, by going to EDIT > RANGE > CUT/PASTE TIME, you get it right the first time. This way, you also manipulate signature, tempo and other kinds of tracks, all in one, with fewer steps.

Btw, that range taken into account is the one in between your left and right locators. And you can always use the shortcuts CTRL+SHIFT+X and CTRL+SHIFT+V or whichever you set it to.

It would be nice to have this done via the arrangement track...

Clever use of the tools available. It also makes one wonder if a workflow improvement should be considered in future development ;)

Very helpfull, but I think it's faster and easier to create loop and then-split loop->select in loop->global copy->paste. 4 shortcuts

you have to do cut to avoid errors so I prefer edit range / cut time from the menu

Helpful tips. If I can make a feature request here: Something similar to “Shuffle mode” In pro tools or “delete time” like in Live so you could delete empty space and everything would slide to the left would be very helpful. Also a multi tool so you don’t have to switch from arrow to range also would be so helpful. Thanks for everything guys! X

..please Steinberg make something like track stacks in logic x...i really miss that feature from logic...puts tracks in folder and adds a bus...pro tools has it now too....!! regards

Thanks for the idea - although be aware, this will mess up any automation on tracks that are not included in the master folder: master automation, VST automation, FX automation and so on. It will also discard any transitional FX (u suggest to delete them). I was hoping to a better solution. Of course en even better solution would be for Steinberg to include VST automation on track level instead of having it on the VST track like it is today.

Not sure what I’m missing here but for moving entire sections I just flatten an arranger track.

I know Cubase has the arranger track. It would be nice to use the arranger as intended and then hit a button that solidified you arrangement and copy pasted and cut and deleted all of the part automatically.

Definitely needed a slower pace to make sure you are also including which keys to hit when moving tracks or parts . This is more geared towards a much more experienced user

I'm totally confused. How are you splitting your tracks? I have tracks that I want to cut and move. A whole section so I can record a bridge into that part.

Can't you just right click on the part in the arranger track and copy/paste it there?

Bus automation doesn’t get copied when copying a group with bus automation in it

is it possible to save metering plugins visuals from one track to another for comparison?

Typical video from Cubase - moves way too fast and assumes that the viewer is already familiar with the process. Not helpful at all to a novice user.
