i liked the old pov where the beginner took inspiration from the guy with good form way more. totally different vibe in those shorts. those made me think about my form and inspried me to want to try it in my next workout. these just make me wonder if theres a dude watching me potentially injure myself, shaking his head, and going back to his own workout

For people that are confused, it’s better to perform shrugs with a slight bend however, there nothing wrong doing then standing up straight. It’s just slightly less stress on your shoulder joint.

Standing upright works the upper traps, bending over hits the back/lower part of the traps connecting to the back muscles.

Learning forward makes you hit more of the mid traps
Standing upright makes you target the upper fibers a little bit better.

Edit: Seems like I've started a war within the comment section. Chill out guys. Everyones body is different. Some people may hit their mid/lower traps with exercise XY, some may not.
Make peace, not war. We have enough bullshit in our lives, let THIS not be part of the bs. Cheers.

This is how I used to do shrugs ("wrong way") and my traps are massive. I actually stopped doing them because I honestly dont want them to grow any more.

this is why owning a basement with no camera's around is one of the biggest flexes to work out in, no judges nerding around because you made a bit of a mistake since no one is honest how its ACTUALLY DONE
