Kirk doesn't get paid by the scale ⚖️. This dude is a very knowledgeable tuber yet he doesn't realize that theory is not only a joke in the music business, it is frowned upon by a large contingency of paying customers.

It does not make you a better musician just because you learnt music theory. Even great composers struggle when it comes to theory, but they compose master pieces Some people like Kirk you know the music while others know about it

At the end of the day; Metallica is succesful because of Cliff burton and Dave Mustaine (the 2 who wrote the most iconic riffs and songs) The band as a whole can hang their success on the opening riff of "For whom the Bell Tolls" A riff played on bass by Cliff Burton. It was the "hook" of that riff, which is really just a "D" scale that made people take notice. Kirk was there to fill the void after Dave was fired, he could never fill Dave's shoes talent wise, but he inserted himself into the band as a good workable cog. What he does works, Metallica will never have the musical prowess of most of the members past and present of Megadeth. But they put together a winning formula that has worked for decades.

There's a reason Ingwe Malmstein, Vinnie Vincent, Dream Theater, etc. never caught on in a big way. Metallica make music for people to listen to an enjoy, not to impress broke musicians with their skills.
